On Friday, October 7, 2005, Governor Schwarzenegger signed this bill into law. This new law will take effect on January 1, 2006.

This law changes the word "oriental" to "Asian" everywhere that it appears in the Acupuncture Act. This new law defines the term "Asian medicine" as including the former term "Oriental medicine."
